On a very wet and cold evening, Alton Town 1st team took to the pitch for their 3rd pre-season friendly against Four Marks.

From the first whistle of the game to the last Alton never looked in trouble and dominated a game through their flair of moving the ball around on a wet slippery surface. Alton took the attack to Four Marks and for the first 20 minutes of the game constantly had chance after chance on the poor Four Marks Keeper. Alton went 2 nil up with goals from a Mark Corbett header and then a scrambled goal from Rich McCann. Four Marks pulled a goal back half way through the 1st Half by a cross which was headed home by their number 9, Soon after Alton made the lead bigger when a penalty was awarded for handball in the area, Rich McCann slotted home the penalty to take us in to the half time interval 3-1 up.

With a couple of changes taking place at half time for Alton we still pushed forward seeking more goals which didn’t take too long with 3 more goals being scored by Mark Corbett, Ben Roberts and the goal of the game by Danny Gray which was fired into the top left corner of the net with some pace from just outside the box. The game ended with a 6 -1 victory to Alton and a worthwhile work out for the boys.

The team is shaping up nicely and a much sterner test for them this Saturday when we visit Cove from the combined counties for our 4th Pre season game.
