Sam Attwater who made his debut as Leon Small in Eastenders last week was among the guests at Alton Town's New Year's Eve party at the Clubhouse and wholeheartedly joined in the fun with the hundred or so other partygoers - with lots of 'look, that's me and Leon from Eastenders' photos being taken of course!

This is Sam's first character role in the soap, having previously been used as an extra, and has signed a six month contract but NO he doesn't know who killed Archie! We understand that all will be revealed during a live show in February - so no scripts have yet been released to the actors.

The connection with Alton Town? Sam is related to Jo Ventham, wife of first team manager Clive and indeed has trained with the squad a few times in the past. Difficult decision I suppose - Alton Town or Eastenders? Perhaps being able to earn a living had something to do with it!
