Callum Burch's goal on 25 minutes, following up from Elliot Trucker's low shot from distance gave Alton's youngsters a well deserved advantage that lasted to the hour before the match was abandoned on safety grounds with one goal area then frozen hard.

Disappointment, of course, to be denied the final half hour and possibility of a 'prized scalp' in this quarter final of the Hants FA Under 18's Invitation Midweek Floodlit Cup but with players' safety the priority we live to fight another day.
