2 late goals rescued Alton on Tuesday night in a game that the home team should have had wrapped up.

Alton created the first goal scoring chance just seconds into the game but Tricker blasted over from close range following a great cross from Burch. Alton found themselves two down at half time and thankfull to keeper Mo Nyamunga for keeping them in the game.

Early in the second half Thatcham were awarded their second penalty of the game and a chance to finish Alton off but again Mo rose to the challenge and dived to his right to save the spot kick.

After three substitutions Alton suddenly found their passing game and following a good spell of possesion football started to threaten the home defenders. Mike Turner turned well in the box to drive home the first after a corner was not cleared with 15 minutes left and with 7 minutes to go Callum Burch stroked home the equaliser from a free kick on the edge of the box to rescue a fortunate and thankfuul away side.

Mention must be made of the excellent conduct of the home players and officials who on another night might well have questioned the two penalty decisions as on each occasion the referee may have issued red cards to the guilty defenders.
