An own goal midway through the first half was an unfortunate but deserved manner for the Brewers to progress to the final of the Basingstoke Senior Cup - where they will meet Fleet Town at Thatcham on Wednesday 12th May.

A scrappy second half took the shine off a more polished initial performance during which Alton created a number of goal scoring opportunities but, like most semi finals, it wasn't memorable but it's about getting that one-off result. And that was achieved despite the home side showing great spirit and determination on the night.
