Alton hosted Wessex league 1 Tadley and came out on top in a very entertaining game. The home side were the better side throughout and scored two excellent goals midway through the first half.

Richie McCann finished well on both occasions as two lightning breaks found him twice on the back post to finish off some delightful passing and movement that tookin the length of the pitch.

Leading 2 nil at half time Alton continued to impress with Nick Sharp and Sam Knight looking particularly dangerous throughout, Tadley pulled a goal back mid way through the half with a free kick from out wide finding its way in at the back post.

Any concern that this would allow them back into the game were dispelled in the last quarter hour as the home side pressed forward and a combination of sloppy finishing and brave goalkeeping stopped them putting themselves well clear, this also included a penalty miss when McCann saw his shot hit the bar.
