Following last night's home defeat by Horndean John Robson tendered his resignation as Alton's first team manager.

Robbo explained his reasons, which are fully football connected and without malice, which allowed me to thank him for his great effort and success with the team over the past couple of seasons and to respect his decision. We do, of course, wish him well for the future and trust that he knows he will always be a welcome visitor to the Bass Ground.

In the interim, I am grateful to Clive Ventham and Kevin Smith who have stepped forward to take care of our next fixture at Winchester City on bank holiday Tuesday 27th December.
