Alton Town FC have received the following request from Ben Rhymes (07872 017125)...
I am currently planning a 24 Hour 6-a-side Football match, in memory of our close friend Alex Watley who died last december of sudden cardiac death, who himself was a keen footballer and in his younger years played for both Manor colts and Alresford Town. We are Raising money for the Charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
The match itself is taking place on the 21st @ 12pm until 22nd @ 12pm of July on Perins School Astro, Alresford. We are currently trying to get as many players as possible to enter.
We are welcoming anyone and everyone both teams and individuals. In order to take part, whether that is being able to play or volunteer with helping out, please email either myself, benrhymes@googlemail.com or stephen mils on smills_8@hotmail.com.
If you are taking part as a team please email through the all team members (up to 9), if you can get together multiple teams then that would be even better. In order to play we are asking for £5 donation per head, to which this will guarantee at least a hour of play. Please inform us on availability on if you can play longer or shorter and what time of the day throughout the 24 hours you would be willing to play, as Im sure you can appreciate we need people to play at 3am as much as we do at 3pm.
On the day, players will have use of the changing rooms facilities under the school gym, toilets under the gym be available for all. A BBQ and drinks will be available along with use of marquees. Potentially other entertainment will be there.
